The Sanremo Yacht Club offers to the pupils of the Primary Schools of Sanremo the “Lupi di Mare” (Sea Dogs) - VelaScuola" project, with the purpose of making the boys and girls know and love the sea, acknowledging that Sanremo, the town where they live at, has an undisputable and natural vocation for the sea.

The “Lupi di Mare - Vela Scuola” project includes a series of meetings that will be held in May at the Sanremo Yacht Club and that will be subdivided into three steps:

Step One: collection of impressions and knowledge of the pupils as concerns the sea environment with deepening of the sea traditions, by Gianni Manuguerra, expert in sea biology and navigation history, and of the safety at sea, thanks to the participation of the Coastguard of Sanremo for the lessons concerning the elementary personal safety and sea safeguard rules.

Step Two: practice at sea will be organized in the sheet of water in front of the Sanremo Yacht Club on single sailboats (Optimist), under the supervision of Federal Trainers and with the assistance of support rubber dinghies.
Provided that they can swim, all the pupils of every class can take part in these exits to sea.

Step Three: team regatta for the participants to the “Lupi di Mare” project (the regatta is reserved to the pupils who took part in the practical lesson at sea).
