From April 13 to 19, the Yacht Club Sanremo is going to organize the European Open Championship of the Star Class, the most prestigious Olympic sailboats.

As 2012 is the Olympic Games year, the European Star Championship (open to all sailors) will be even more important than usual, thanks to the participation of all the World and National champions, that, a few months later, will fight for medals in London.

 It is one of the international events organised by the Sanremo Yacht Club. It is dedicated to the Dragons, usually referred to as the Kings’ Class, thanks to love of princes and sovereigns for these boats. Dragons took part in the Olympic Games from 1948 to 1972 and are going to come back to Sanremo. A wide number of participants from all over Europe is expected.

 The Sanremo Mini Solo has become a “must” for every sailor fond of “solo” sailing, in particular for those who aim at taking part in the famous Transat.
Also in 2012 the race will start from Sanremo to head for the Porquerolles Isles, in a two days’ no-stop competition which, as usual, will give deep emotions.
