69th edition of the Rolex Giraglia 2022

Descrizione dell'evento

69th edition of the Rolex Giraglia 2022

the Rolex Giraglia adorns its classic route, after the years of the pandemic, and does it in a big way, with the departure from Sanremo at midnight heading towards Saint Tropez.

Numerous beautiful boats that will depart from the Riviera dei Fiori including the super innovative and very fast Flyng Nikka, a foil boat, very similar to the America’s Cup boats, at its first public release.

As many as 16 participating nations, even from very far away, such as Uruguay, Argentina, Turkey and the Cayman Islands. A great show that will crowd the Old Port of Sanremo and that will have its climax with the gathering of the crews on Friday afternoon and the exit from the port at 11 am.

As always, the city of Sanremo will be able to welcome athletes and boats with its style and beauty.

Local Boats

It will be a beautiful fleet, that of the boats of the Yacht Club Sanremo, which will leave for the Rolex Giraglia: among these Aurora di Bonomo, Bruno, who is now a certainty of this regatta and with many good results in his career, deserves to be mentioned; another boat in the club is Marco Babando’s Miss Kappa Checkmate, also a very fond of this regatta, who took his first steps on a sailing boat as a child in the sailing school of the Yacht Club Sanremo.

Very fascinating and curious is the participation of Resolute Salmon, the family boat of the Zaoli family, which despite its age (it won the One ton Cup in 1976) comes to the starting line with all the intentions of doing well.

On board Gina Zaoli, her nephew Andrea who will be the helmsman, Andrea Vacchino and many other young people from Sanremo.
