Three days, seven races and the sea of Sanremo painted by the sails of the CAPE 31.
Eight European countries, different cultures, languages and habits but the same passion: the love of the sea. This is the spirit that marked the CAPE 31 Med regatta hosted in our waters on 12, 13 and 14 July.
For the sixth time in the Mediterranean, crews were welcomed by winds of up to 12 knots which enhanced the characteristics of an emerging sailing class, with great technical skills and team spirit. Wind coming from the east and west meant that the Dutch Motions owned by Lennard Van Oeveren dominated the 6th round. Second place was occupied by Essentia’s Romania, followed by the Isle of Man crew.
Our new interest in boats of the international seas reflects not only in the regattas of the past few days but also next November when our Yacht Club will host the CAPE 31 European Championship in Sanremo.
In the meantime, we continue our Summer Sailing School until the first week of September, with the aim of bringing our little ones ever closer to knowing and loving the sea, while waiting for the Ligurian Championship for the 420 class at the end of August.
