Autunno in Regata & Gorilla Gang Cup 2025- a weekend of great sailing with maximum fun

Autunno in Regata , the second event of the West Liguria Championship , concluded with another weekend of intense activity , which once again enlivened our docks with two splendid days dedicated to sailing and conviviality.

Saturday provided ideal conditions: warm sunshine and a steady breeze of 8 to 12 knots allowed the Gorilla Gang Cup to take place , a highly anticipated competition that this year saw the clear dominance of Antonino Venneri’s Suspiria the Revenge . The boat took the Overall victory , first place in ORC 1 , and success in IRC , thanks in part to a crew composed largely of very young athletes who distinguished themselves with their technique, teamwork, and determination.

In ORC 2, Gina Zaoli‘s Resolute Salmon took the lead , producing precise and consistent performances that confirmed her position at the top. In the Cruising category , victory went to Dario Gioffredo‘s Melissa II , who delivered an impeccable performance.

Sunday brought a pleasant surprise: an unexpected westerly wind allowed the Race Committee to set up a technical windward-leeward course, which was particularly appreciated by the participants. On this second day, Suspiria the Revenge confirmed its supremacy, taking the overall lead ahead of Paolo Rossi ‘s Free Spirit . In ORC 2, Resolute Salmon confirmed its lead , while in the Cruising category , Melissa II once again took the lead , consolidating her lead from the previous day.

The weekend’s social event, the Cult Movie Party, held on Saturday evening at the Roof Garden Casino in Sanremo , was also a huge success . A warm welcome, music by the great band Rock in Movie, and a captivating theme – great films from the 1970s —created a unique atmosphere. The crews gave free rein to their creativity with spectacular and fun costumes, from The Godfather to Habemus Papam, from Point Break to Star Wars.

The jury awarded the Change Transparent crew, impeccably dressed in a Clockwork Orange theme , crowned as the best costume of the event, who also won a mini gorilla offered by the sponsor Gorilla Gang.
