An all-Italian podium closes the 2025–26 Dragon Winter Series

Transbunker, Tergeste, and Javelin: an all-Italian podium closes the 2025–26 Dragon Winter Series.

Crews from Sweden, Ukraine, Denmark, Austria, Germany, and of course Italy competed in the final winter regatta, once again confirming the event’s resounding success, further enhanced by particularly favorable weather conditions.

The program included a test on Friday, three races on Saturday, held with an easterly wind that reached 24 knots, and a splendid final test on Sunday, characterized by a stable westerly wind of around 12 knots.

The winner was Beppe Zaoli ‘s ITA 7 Tergeste , a 1955 boat that proved extremely competitive, ahead of ITA 79 Transbunker , helmed by multiple champion and Olympic gold medalist Yevgen Braslavets . Third place on the podium went to Karl Gustav Lohr  ‘s SWE 404 High Times .

The sun and wind brought great satisfaction to all participants, and the convivial dinner on Saturday evening also contributed to the excellent class spirit that has always distinguished the Dragon fleet.

The final standings of the four stages of the Winter Series see  ITA 79 – TRANSBUNKER, Yevgen Braslavets – Andrea Zaoli – Vittorio Zaoli, in the lead, ahead of ITA 7 – TERGESTE, Beppe Zaoli – Paolo Bozzano – Flavio Favini, and ITA 49 – JAVELIN, Fabio Mangione – Davide Leardini – Flavio Grassi.

The next appointment for the DRAGON class will be from 15 to 18 April with the GRAND PRIX D’ITALIA Dragon Cup 2026 .
