The 42nd edition of the Campionato Invernale West Liguria concluded in the waters of Sanremo , with a finale heavily influenced by sea weather. The final weekend’s schedule included additional races to complete the series, but wind speeds—consistently exceeding operating limits for many participating classes—combined with persistent rainfall on Saturday, prevented the fleet from safely sailing out. The Race Committee, in coordination with the Organizing Committee, therefore canceled the scheduled races, while maintaining the provisional rankings already in place .
From a technical standpoint, the failure to hold the final races prevented the application of any additional discards or changes to the rankings , effectively freezing the results of the previous days. This situation, while not uncommon in the Ligurian Sea winter calendars, once again highlights the variability of weather and sea conditions at this stage of the season.
The fleet, made up of boats divided into the usual classes with compensation (ORC and equivalent systems), nevertheless demonstrated a good technical level in the trials regularly held in the previous weeks, with small gaps and close competition between the crews .
The awards ceremony was brought forward to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, and was well attended by the crews.

The next appointment is on April 24th for the new offshore race Sanremo Lion de Mer – Trofeo off shore Casinò di Sanremo : the event, in its first edition, includes a 100 nm coastal course and is part of the panorama of offshore races in the Western Mediterranean, with the aim of attracting a large and qualified fleet.
