Descrizione dell'evento

A new fabulous adventure at the Sanremo Yacht Club.

The activity of the Sanremo Yacht Club never stops, one of the most active clubs in international competitive activity.
Since the beginning of the year there are more than thirty nations whose athletes have participated in the regattas of the Matuzian circle.
The European Dragons Class Championship, from March 31 to April 8, will see 65 crews at sea from 18 European and non-European countries, such as Australia and Japan.
YRed’s Japanese deserve to be mentioned who, having arrived in Sanremo to participate in the Dragon Cup last year, despite the difficulties in traveling that these times impose on us, remained in our city in the interval between the two events, alternating training and visiting our city and our territory.
An exceptional parterre made up of champions who in their palmares collect victories and participations in America’s Cups, Olympics, not to mention the World Championships won among all the participants.
To win these responses it is not easy: it is necessary to assign your candidacy at least four years before, with the most renowned sailing resorts in the world, and the Yacht Club Sanremo in recent years has more and more success and feedback among inti. Since 2014, the year in which it won the European Championship, followed by a Grand Prix twice and the fantastic 90th Anniversary of the class, with a record participation of 160 boats from 34, revealing in history the second race of the Dragon Class for number of competitors.
Six days of regatta during which these beautiful and elegant boats will compete at sea, with an important number of champions, among which some great names in Italian sailing deserve to be mentioned, such as Tommaso Chieffi, Olympian and multiple world champion and great America’s Cup man, the coastal Diego Negri, also an Olympian and current world champion in the Star class.
Among the Sanremo racers the President of the Sanremo Yacht Club, at the helm of his boat together with his son Andrea and the former Olympian Flavio Grassi, but also the second son Vittorio, demonstrating the great passion that this family has for sailing.
It will also be a great party with the post-regatta offered by Yanmar, on Wednesday Gin Tonic for all the rowers offered by Hendrick’s Gin and there will be evening social moments such as the gala dinner for over 200 people at the Casino of Sanremo.
All this is made possible by the hospitality of the city and the precious support of the Municipality of Sanremo, the Liguria Region, Paul & Shark, which has always been a partner in the regattas of this class.
A very important collaboration is the Portosole console which, with its spaces and means available, offers the possibility of being able to accommodate such a large number of boats.
After less than a month, the Gianni Cozzi Trophy will be held: a spring classic in memory of the founder of the Cozzi Parodi Group, who gave so much impetus to boating in our area.
