Sanremo, 15 July2021
The City of Flowers smiles at the 470 World Junior Championship.
The day begins with a light westerly wind that allows a test to take place, then after a second start the wind drops and it is decided to send the crews ashore.
In the afternoon a nice wind from the East overlooks the bay of Sanremo allowing the unfolding of a beautiful regatta with almost 20 knots.
A good championship, hard fought and which takes place in the best weather conditions.
After seven race in the lead we find Marco Gradoni the young talent already three times Optimist world champion with Alessandra Dubbini who today with a ninth and a first place consolidate their leadership in front of the French Pacaud and De Gennes. Italy again in third place with the Marchesini Festo couple followed by Israelis, British and Americans.
In the Open fleet the Austrians Lehmann Haberl who discard a second place as their worst result continue their journey ahead of the Imperia Bozzano and Casano penalized by a disqualification in the first test of the day. In third place the American crew Harvey Reynoso.
Tomorrow all at sea again for new regattas, with departure scheduled at 14:00, towards the final day with the Medal Races for the top ten of the ranking.
