Another weekend of regattas ended at the Sanremo Yacht Club: the Orc, Irc and Racing Club classes are fighting at sea.

This weekend ended “Autunno in Regata”, the second of the four stages that make up the 38th West Liguria Winter Championship, and the first edition of the Gorilla Gang Cup Trophy, supported by Andrea Statari and held with the precious collaboration of the Sailing Club Ventimigliese and the new Yacht Club Cala del Forte.

The regatta was in fact held on a round trip between Sanremo and the port of Cala del Forte. Saturday 11 December departure at 12 from Sanremo, accompanied by a slight South West, arriving in Ventimiglia, and a beautiful expanse of north wind, where the boats were welcomed by a grand party at the Cala del Forte Yacht Club with live musical performances. On Sunday 12 December the boats left the port of Cala del Forte at 11 am, with a north wind that turned west in the morning that accompanied the fleet on a ride to the finish line in Sanremo. In the general classification of the Autumn in regatta, in the Orc class, the triumph was Resolute Salmon, helmed by the President of the Yacht Club Sanremo Beppe Zaoli: a boat that is part of the history of yachting, winning both in the regattas of vintage boats and of the modern ones, revealing more and more the genius of its designer. Second place for Checkmate; third place Il Pingone di Mare IIII. Leading the ranking in the IRC class is the Pingone di Mare IIII, which imposes itself on Checkmate and Gorilla Gang. Finally in the Racing Club Obi-Wan affirmed that he defended the primacy in front of Liberamente, with third place for Vela X 1. In the general classification of the Gorilla Gang Cup, in the Orc class, Resolute Salmon is confirmed as the absolute winner, followed by Checkmate and the Pingone di Mare IIII. In the Irc class, the Pingone di Mare IIII triumphs, with a second place for Checkmate and third place for Gorilla Gang. In Racing Club Heaven Can Wait wins, second place for Obi-Wan and third place for Vela X 1.

After the final of the Autunno in Regata to conclude the rich regattas calendar of the Sanremo Yacht Club for 2021 will be the second stage of the DRAGON WINTER SERIES, scheduled from 17 to 19 December. West Liguria will return in 2022, with the other two stages on the calendar: in fact, “Inverno in Regata” is still scheduled, with tests on 15/16 January, and the “Festival della Vela”, scheduled for 26/27 February 2022.
