100 nautical miles for the Sanremo – Lion de Mer – Sanremo on April 24th and 25th, the first edition of the Sanremo Casino Trophy, which proved to be quite technical, with two long beats: a westerly wind accompanied the boats to the buoy in front of Saint-Raphael and then, after a few miles, turned east at up to 20 knots, challenging the fleet to a beautiful beat back home.
First overall and first in the ORC A class, with 18 hours and 43 minutes in real time, was Marco Babando’s Swan 45 Miss K Checkmate, which beat its sister ship Change Transparent, owned by Alberto Franchella, by a few minutes.
