Record number of participants in the emotional journey of skipper Alessandro Tosetti, guest of a special evening at our yacht club at the end of July.
“Desire is the most powerful of feelings, the engine of everything, the irrepressible force that tends to fill the void. WIND is the desire for air to run from high to low pressure. The object of my desire is the blue flag with the white albatross of the CAPE HORNERS, to complete my curriculum as a sailor” replies skipper Alessandro Tosetti to the question of questions, from our president Beppe Zaoli, on the reason for this trip.
This is the introduction to the evening “Me and Aspra around the world. Emotions of an adventure” organized by Alessandro, Turin architect and passionate sailor, who recounted his emotional adventure, alone aboard Aspra, which began with the Global Solo Challenge regatta and will end next winter with the last Auckland-Sanremo section.
In the presence of many members and friends, including the Famija Sanremasca, Alessandro made us travel through his moods: from the DESIRE of the pre-departure β which took 4 years of preparations β to the JOY in intimacy with the ocean and the boat that sails safely. From moments of DISAPPOINTMENT caused by technical unforeseen events to moments of ecstasy in the ocean calms, up to GRATITUDE for all the people who accompanied and assisted him.

A route of more than 27,000 miles suspended in the Pacific Ocean, due to a forced stop in Chatham Islands, New Zealand, due to the breaking of the shrouds, worn out after the passage of the Good Hope and Leeuwin capes in the Southern Ocean.
It is from Auckland, where Aspra is still moored for repair, that Alessandro will continue the circumnavigation in 2025, completing the route with the passage of the third cape, that of Horn, to then arrive in Sanremo.
Alessandro received the banner of our yacht club and was awarded the position of member β all that remains is to wish fair winds for his next 15 thousand miles!
