SARCHIAPONE BEATS EVERYONE AND WINS THE WEST LIGURIA WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP.

Record participation in the ninth edition of the 420&470 The Carnival Race, organized by the Yacht Club Sanremo, with the precious support of the Cozzi Parodi Group, in the magical location of Marina degli Aregai.
185 boats for the 420 class and 15 for the 470 class, coming from as many as 13 countries: Spain, Germany, Great Britain, France, Poland, Greece, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Switzerland, Turkey and Italy gathered to four days of racing. The light wind and the calm sea made it possible to compete in 5 beautiful races with a margin applied.
In the general classification of the 420 Open class, the Spanish Badia – De Maqua took the top step of the podium, the Greeks Sotiriou-Koulouris second and the Spanish Mesquida-Villanueva third. On the women’s podium in the 420 class, great success for the Yacht Club Sanremo which takes home a first place with the Greganti – Lanteri crew and a fifth place with the Terzi – Gentili crew. In second place the German wehrle – Rinn, followed by the Italian Michelini – Bonifaccio. The German Spitz – Albani were the first women’s Under 17 team, the Italians Vucetti – Bonifacio first Open Under 17.
For the 470 class, the Italian Navy crew Ferrari – Caruso excelled According to the Greeks Pappa – Michalopoulos. Third place for the Slovenians Mrack – Bozic. The favorable conditions and a high-level organization have allowed this regatta to become one of the most popular in the world in the 420 class.
The Yacht Club Sanremo does not stop: next weekend the West Liguria Winter Championship will return to the Matuzian waters with the fourth and final stage “Festival della Vela”, to then return to Marina degli Aregai with the appointment with the Kinder Cup Optimist class , scheduled from 3 to 5 March, where about 400 boats are expected. In March, instead, the classic International Italian Dragon Cup Paul&Shark trophy.
