GREAT FINAL FOR “AUTUNNO IN REGATA” and “GORILLA GANG CUP”.
13 December 2021Two hundred Optimists, the first boat for all the very young, coming from all over Europe have nicely invaded the Porto Vecchio of Sanremo this week for the traditional Mediterranean Meeting now in its 37th edition.
A record number that of this edition which shows more and more the appreciation of sailors of all ages for the city, its regatta course and the organization of the Sanremo Yacht Club. Unfortunately, the weather was not extremely favorable and the lack of wind allowed the dispute of only two races in three days, leaving everyone happy with a beautiful last race, which started at the limit of the allowed time. These young people, from nine to fifteen years old, armed with a great passion that leads them to race even in these not exactly hot seasons, however, have found mild temperatures in the Ligurian Gulf to such an extent that someone has even tried their hand at swimming in the sea. In the Cadet class, Andrea Demurtas (Fraglia Vela Riva) won the first step of the podium, second place for the Swiss Violette Baudet (Societè Nautique Geneve), who also won first place for women, and third place for Marco Emanuele Aloisi (CN Brenzone). Fourth place for Andrea Goffi ((Società Canottieri Garda Salo ‘), fifth place Marta Pisoni of the Society Canottieri Garda Salo’, sixth Matteo Adduci (LNI Mandello del Lario) and seventh place Thomas Carrodano (CV La Speziai). Eighth place for Alexandra Santelli (YC Monaco), ninth place for Jan Viviani (Venetian sailing pleasure) and tenth Andrea Bontempi (CN Marina di Carrara). In the Juniores category, first place is won by Alberto Advance, from the CN Bardolino; second place for Giovanni Bedoni (Fraglia Vela Riva), third place for Leonardo Vanelo (CV La Spezia). fourth place for Frederic Flandorffer (YC Cannes), fifth place Lorenzo Specchia (CV La Spezia) followed by Alessandro Massironi (CN Bardolino). seventh Leandro Scialpi (CN Bardolino). Eighth place for French Simon Prot (ASPTT Marseille) and ninth place for French Justine Barbarin, of CNV Aix Les Bains, first female Juniores. Tenth place for Erik Scheidt, of the CVT. The award for the youngest ever among all competitors goes to Pietro Ceccherini, of the Imperia Yacht Club. This year it was the Bardolino Nautical Center that won the Dino Minaglia Trophy, dedicated to the memory of a great member of the Sanremo Yacht Club who always did his utmost for youth activity, which rewards the best Club that, among the Juniors, obtained the three best placings with Alberto Advini, Alessandro Massironi and Leandro Scialpi. A beautiful event that demonstrates the vitality of the city all year round and its circle that never stops: This was the second consecutive weekend of regattas and, before Christmas, Sanremo will host another stage of the West Liguria Winter Championship and another Winter Series event dedicated to Dragons with the Abate Gioielli Trophy, sponsor that has been a partner of the Club for years.
