23 April 2016Ended in Miami on World Star 2016, victory for the US crew of Augie Diaz & Bruno Prada, seconds Italians Diego Negri & Sergio Lambertenghi, third Brian Ledbetter & Joshua Revkin.
The last race, the sixth, Diaz & Prada managed to recover the point of detachment from Italian (the first until that moment) and sopravanzarli one.
The winds read in Biscayne Bay were forced to delay the start, but at 12:30 the wind rose up to 7 knots and the committee has completed the program. After four attempts, the race judge exposed black flag and the start was good except for 10 parties crews off the line.
The battle began immediately, with Augie Diaz and Diego Negro in control of each other for the win at the start. At the windward mark first it appears Paul Cayard and Augie Diego and around the sixtieth position Brian Ledbetter, half the fleet, is the virtual winner of the World.
In the third side Augie Diaz & Bruno Prada do a great job taking from 60th to 7th position. From there it was all a tactic work, the US team managed to push the Italian on the wrong side fadendolo finish the test in 7th position and finishing in 5th winning the victory of the World.
The Star Worlds in 2016 there were 72 crews, all of the highest standard, from 13 nations. The class is very much alive despite not being the most Olympic sign that perhaps be excluded from the Olympics perhaps not all is tragedy if those who supervises a sailing class works as it should.
