1 September 2017THE ATHLETES OF THE YACHT CLUB SANREMO STARTING FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF SAILING IN AUSTRALIA
22 December 2017The Youth Sailing World Championship ended today in Sanya, China, in which more than 380 athletes belonging to nine classes participated.
The only two Italians selected in the 420 class were the Sanremo artists Edoardo Ferraro and Francesco Orlando, from the Sanremo Yacht Club, accompanied by former world champion Alessandra Sensini and the federal coach Gianluigi Picciau.
After nine tests completed, with a fourth and a sixth in the last two tests, Edoardo and Francesco finished in tenth place in the general classification.
The entire Italian team, composed of the nine classes, won the Nations Trophy.
Returning from China, the two athletes of the Yacht Club Sanremo Edoardo and Francesco will rest a few days and then leave on December 23rd for Australia where they will participate in the 420 Open World Championship, from December 29th to January 3rd, together with the other two crews of the Sanremo Yacht Club composed by Fabio Boldrini – Andrea Abbruzzese and Tommaso Cilli – Bruno Mantero.
This evening, at Imperia’s Coni Point, will take place the 44th edition of the Imperiese Sports Oscar during which nine athletes of the Yacht Club Sanremo will be awarded: Andrea Zaoli, Vittorio Zaoli, Diego Negri, Michele Gregoratto, Edoardo Ferraro, Francesco Orlando, Andrea Abbruzzese, Tommaso Cilli, Fabio Boldrini, for the victories at the World, European and Italian Championships. Team 420 coach Fernanda Sesto was also rewarded.
