The 5.5 European Championship, organized by the Sanremo Yacht Club, with the support of the Municipality of Sanremo, together with the Sponsors, Royal Hotel, Abate Gioielli and Cozzi Parodi Group, ends today in Sanremo.
Beautiful show of these splendid boats that, coming from 9 Nations, have given life to hard-fought regattas.
Momo, first in the standings until the fourth round, had to leave the scepter to Aspire, helmed by the Polish super champion Mateusz Kusznierewicz who became European Champion.
The Polish team with the Aspire boat made up of Mateusz Kusznierewicz, Gacek Przemyslaw and Simon Fry therefore wins the Overall trophy.
In the “Modern” category, the Poles of Aspire are reconfirmed first, second is the Swiss boat Momo with Dieter Schon, Markus Wieser and Thomas Auracher on board.
In third place is the boat New Moon II, coming from Bahamas, with Mark Holowesko, Christoph Burger and Peter Vlasov.
In the “Evolution” category, the Germans of Ali Baba, with Wolf Eberhard at the helm together with Beata Kallkowski and Hans Wendlandt, and of Criollo, with Andreas Christiansen, Michael Kurtz and Moritz Chriastiansen reach the first two places on the podium.
In third place are the Italians of Whisper, with Richard Leupold, Paolo Giorgetti and Andrea Quaranta. In the “Classic” category the Italians from Kukururu win, with Giuseppe Matildi, Gianluca and Alessandro Marolli. Second to the French Korrigan, with Gurvan Jaouen at the helm.
