470 WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 Sanremo, 14 July2021 Today at the Sanremo Yacht Club was a very long day. The committee dispatched the fleet at 10am and the race started at 11am as scheduled. The wind was coming from the southwest at a speed of about 8 knots, but unfortunately the wind dropped on the second upwind leg and we had to abandon the race. We tried to reschedule a second start later in the day, but unfortunately the wind dropped again. The fleet disembarked and waited for a few hours, at 4.30pm. they were once again sent out to sea, with an easterly wind around 10 knots. Spain receives the Francis Mouvet trophy The World Championship of the 420 Class ended today in the waters of Arma di Taggia and was organized by the Yacht Club Sanremo with the support of the title sponsor Frecciarossa. “According to the most recent government ruling, for all events that appear on this list, registered participants – being the athletes, coaches, team leaders and official representatives of the country – will not be required to quarantine upon entry into Italy as long as that each person also has a negative Covid-19 PCR test performed no more than 3 days before the trip and an invitation letter from the organizing authority. Catamarans arrive in Sanremo.

 The Sanremo Yacht Club is ready to host the M32 EUROPEAN SERIES 2021 on the weekend of 7/9 May for the second year. It is called M32 and is a latest generation racing catamaran that can exceed 30 knots of speed “flying” on the surface of the water. A completely different show from what we are used to and a great discovery for all our young sailors. Six boats from Sweden, Denmark, Monaco, Italy and Norway will participate: all professional sailors with Olympic medals on board and various world champions. The tests will take place from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 May with the first warning signal on Friday at 2.00 pm. Sunday 9, at the end of the regattas, the awards ceremony will take place at the Yacht Club Sanremo.

The YACHT CLUB SANREMO DRAGON TROPHY is over, with eight participating nations and two beautiful tests completed on Saturday, with a wind from the south west, a classic ending in Sanremo, at 8/10 knots. Unfortunately on Sunday the absence of wind forced the Race Committee to leave the race course, bringing everyone ashore. Two beautiful regattas, therefore, and a final ranking that sees the Swedish Jan Secher SWE 345 MISS BEHAVIOR in first place, followed by the Russian Dmitry Samokhin with ROCHNROLLA, in third place DRAGON FLY with Beppe Zaoli, President of the Sanremo Yacht Club and new entry in the class of the Dragons.
